Job Description
To assess, diagnose, and treat patients with physical impairments, movement dysfunctions, and musculoskeletal or neurological conditions through evidence-based therapeutic interventions, with the goal of restoring function, reducing pain, preventing disability, and improving patients’ overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients to diagnose physical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer physical therapy interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and functional training.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Educate patients and their families on managing conditions and preventing further injuries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with professional standards.
- Prepare and submit periodic reports on patient outcomes, workload, and departmental activities.
- Ensure physiotherapy equipment is well-maintained and used appropriately.
- Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate department.
- Adhere to professional and ethical standards in patient care.
- Participate in clinical audits, continuous medical education, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Refer patients to other specialists when necessary.
- Participate in wellness programs and community outreach activities to promote physical health and injury prevention.
Skill & Experience
- A diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Valid license from the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Excellent clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
